IC Mask Design and Mentor Graphics enjoy successful cooperation in support of growing demand for Master-IC™ Training Courses
Since its launch in early 2004, Master-IC™ Training, the training division of IC Mask Design, has received a tremendously favourable response to its wide range of IC Layout courses.
To date, the company has trained over 100 engineers. The majority of the attendees, coming from, 7 of the 10 leading semiconductor companies in the industry.
One such company is Mentor Graphics, (Munich, Germany branch) who’s Application Engineers, were trained in the ‘Introduction to CMOS Layout’ course, provided by Master-IC™ Training. The overall aim of the course was to ensure that these engineers are versed in the latest IC Layout Techniques.
Commenting on the “exceptional standard of training that his team were provided with”, Technical Director (Central Europe) for Mentor Graphics, Mr. Martin Reuter, went on to quote his engineering team as saying that “The training they received from IC Mask Design was practical, applicable to their specific positions, and extremely valuable”. They proceeded to say that the course “was one of the best technical training programs they ever attended”.
Head of the global training teams and Chief Technical Officer for IC Mask Design, Mr. Ciaran Whyte, carried out the initial training course for Mentor Graphics, and comments on the user-friendliness of Mentor Graphics layout tool, IC Station.
“With minimal effort in targetting the tool towards our customers’ specific technologies, along with its powerful schematic driven layout features and intuitive interface, it meant our focus was entirely on delivering the training content whilst the attendees were able to easily complete the practical elements of the course. As innovative cycles in this field are fairly short, the application of design requires continuous training for the staff involved in this task. With advances in technology and decreasing geometries, training in IC Layout has a crucial role play in the evolution of the industry.
