IC Mask Design to Participate on Panel Discussion at GSA / IET Semiconductor Forum

Limerick, Ireland – April 2010: IC Mask Design is to participate on a panel discussion at the GSA / IET Semiconductor Forum to be held at the Novotel in London from 18-19 May 2010 ( http://www.gsaietsemiconductorforum.com/2010/general/index.asp).

Also participating in the discussion “Analog: The New Bottleneck” will be Peter Firth, Chief Technical Officer, Wolfson Microelectronics; Doug Pattullo, Director of Field Technical Support, TSMC Europe; and Ed Petrus, Chief Operations Officer, Ciranova.

Despite accounting for only a fraction of overall chip content, analog design is now dominating both critical design path and yield/failure mechanisms. EDA vendors, fabless/IDM organisations and foundries must therefore re-assess design tools and practices to ensure ‘right first time’ design in a reasonable timeframe.

The panel will explore what can be done at EDA, design and foundry level to improve design knowledge, practice and efficiency.

IC Mask Design has recently launched an innovative Analog Layout Acceleration Platform in partnership with Tanner EDA to help address the issues presented.
