Fergal Brosnan, Co-Founder and CEO
Fergal Brosnan, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, leads the company vision and direction and brings significant years of experience, business acumen and industry knowledge to IC Mask Design.
In his role as CEO, Fergal is responsible for the Company's business development efforts and strategic initiatives. He also manages and coordinates the activities of our Global Sales Teams. As co-founder of IC Mask Design, Fergal has guided the company in leveraging the growth in the outsourcing of IC Layout Services. With Fergal's leadership, the organisation has become a key player in the provision of Physical Design Services.
Fergal's career extends over 15 years in the semiconductor industry with both domestic and global market experience.
Prior to co-founding IC Mask Design, Fergal was Integrated Circuit Layout Manager at Parthus Technologies PLC for a seven-year period. Throughout that time, he was instrumental in establishing the Physical Design Department at Parthus, which grew to span five geographical locations.
Previous to this position, Fergal worked for six years in the Integrated Circuit Layout Department of Analog Devices, Limerick as an Integrated Circuit Layout Engineer.
He qualified in 1989 with a City & Guilds Diploma in Telecommunications from the Limerick Institute of Technology and went on to receive Diplomas in Business Studies and International Marketing from the Institute of Commercial Management and most recently received a Professional Diploma in Management from the Open University.
Ciaran Whyte, Co-Founder and CTO
Ciaran Whyte, Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer at IC Mask Design, oversees the management of the entire Global Engineering Teams, leveraging design services and generating the content of the company’s Master-IC™ Training Programs.
Ciaran is responsible for meeting the challenges IC Mask Design faces – both from the changing needs of customers and an environment of new and rapidly evolving technologies. His remit also includes the company's ongoing research into new and emerging technologies and services.
Ciaran worked as a senior member of the Integrated Circuit Layout Group at Parthus Technologies for over seven years prior to co-founding IC Mask Design. His role included the development and management of the Physical Design Department. He was responsible for all physical design activity at Parthus Technologies covering analog, RF, mixed-signal and digital projects, and was instrumental in the development and implementation of customer-specific CAD flows.
In 1995, Ciaran graduated with a distinction level Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Tallaght Institute of Technology. He later received a 1st class honours degree in Electronic Engineering, also from Tallaght Institute of Technology.
