IC Mask Design is an established design services company, specialising in the design and layout of ICs (integrated circuits). Founded in 2002, IC Mask Design has become an industry leader in the provision of physical design services to the global semiconductor industry, serving a worldwide customer base, including companies in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe, USA and Asia.
In 2009, IC Mask Design, in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland, invested in the development of a software product which aids engineers in the design of analog ICs. Having already licensed and sold this product into the marketplace, IC Mask Design is now looking to develop and grow a software development team to support its existing technology, but more importantly to continue the development of this new product.
This team will operate as an independent software business unit within IC Mask Design, developing software internally within our own premises.

Current Openings
Analog/RF Layout Engineer
This position will require the technical deployment of complex analog, RF and mixed signal layouts, always working to schedule.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 6 years' industry experience in full custom analog layout and a Bachelors degree in electronics or similar discipline, but we welcome applications from designers with less experience and/or qualifications.
Experience, but more importantly knowledge of CMOS processes, is essential, ideally on nanometer technology nodes.
The candidate will have an exceptional working knowledge of the Cadence design environment, but will be flexible enough to adapt quickly to different EDA tools, technologies and design kits.
RF expertise and a proven track record of working on RF designs is desirable.

Lead Software Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will be employed in the position of Lead Software Engineer. In your position you will
- Have complete responsibility for all code development and deliveries to our customers as well as taking responsibility for the growth and management of the internal development team.
- Develop and deliver software to meet the requirements and quality expectations defined by our business clients and our technical experts.
- Occasionally travel to client’s R&D labs to integrate, test and commission your software.
- Develop a variety of user and test applications to leverage the technology
- Design and code software to run on Microsoft Windows, Linux and similar Operating Systems.
- Ensure high run-time execution performance by profiling and tuning the software.
- Code-review and test your software to meet defined functional and quality expectations.
- Document your software designs, code and test results.
- Participate in the ongoing installation, development and support of our software development environment, including Development Tools and Software Configuration Management utilities.
Skills & Experience Required
The following describes both the essential and advantageous experience and skills that you are required to have in order to be considered for the position.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering is essential.
- Recent experience of electronic design, especially with a focus on semiconductor design is desired but not essential. In the absence of experience in this area, you will need to prove your technical aptitude during interview.
- 5 to 10 years industrial experience in software development.
- Experience in C coding is essential. Experience in scripting languages like TCL/TK, Perl and PhP are an advantage.
- Experience in the development of user mode software for Linux or Microsoft Windows is essential.
- Experience in embedded software architecture, design & development is essential.
- Software Debug skills are essential, especially in the use of debug tools. Experience in Performance Profiling and Performance Tuning is an advantage.
- Experience in Software Configuration Management, including the use version control systems and bug trackers is essential, e.g. CVS, Subversion, BugZilla and Trac.
- A proven self-starter, with the ambition to innovate, influence and grow a new software development team within an established business.
